A look inside the world of Pat Monahan of the band Train

We had a tough trip from Las Vegas to Spain last week but our stay and travel has been wonderful. The road can be a very difficult place at times. You contend with weather, illness, overwork, over singing, jet lag, lack of sleep, lack of love, over love from crowds. It’s all weird but lovely at the same time.
I wanted to write this blog tonight from Ireland to send you all a sincere thank you. My family originated in Ireland and so I am feeling a strange and real connection here. Its making me feel melancholy actually. I suppose there is a sense of belonging here for me, as though my prior lives may have been closer to here than anywhere else.
I’m so happy to have experienced such a magnificent day and visit to Dublin.
My all in all general thank you goes like this: what a complete honor it is that the universe has chosen me to gift music to. I am forever grateful, even during times when no one seemed to care, I always respected the gift. In turn, the universe has given me songs out of this air that have entered your lives in a positive, beautiful way and brought you joy, hope, connection, laughs, whatever and where ever. In spite of a time in the world that no one has “extra money”, we play to a full room of amazing and beautiful people every night. I, along with all the guys and crew, are indebted to you all. So, as we head into month 17 of touring and we are all tired and lonely in many ways, we are so grateful to you for your love and support. Thank you for a wonderful life and we will do everything we can to be the guys and musicians that you can continue to root for as well all root for you. Thank you again and good night!
Love, Pat
