A look inside the world of Pat Monahan of the band Train

Funny how so much love can bring so much hate. It’s so human. Can’t really blame anyone. The less you’re on the radio, the more underdog you are and people start to root for you. Then everyone gets what they wanted(including me) and the hate begins. Its happened before and on some level it will happen again. It’s okay though. If you spend your energy hating on something, it really just closes up that huge potential to love something else and experience something new about yourself. I know first hand. I catch myself hating on certain things and try to stop as soon as I can because it really just squashes the potential greatness that is lurking inside of me somewhere. I know you can’t really love everything. Not saying you should. Just that spending energy, whether it’s physical or mental or otherwise, you might as well spend it on something positive. I try to practice that when I’m clear headed. I’m very tired. Been in Europe and Ireland and the UK for 3 weeks and when I’m really longing for my wife and kiddos, I really try to super love everyone at our shows. It works. Loving the guys in the band helps a lot too.
So, I’m not perfect and I have much to learn but if you can throw something cool at someone, give it a shot. There it is. Feeling like the hate is coming on? Love something else right on through it. Try it. It’s BIG! Oh yea, and while you do THAT, check out the new Golden Gate edition of Save Me, SF that comes out next week all over the world.
PS-sent a hear now message too :)
